Dr. Scott Fertik
Dr. Fertik grew up in Ithaca, NY. He has made Rhode Island his home for over 24 years after attending Hamilton College graduating Cum Laude in 1982. He attended dental school at the University of Buffalo, where he developed his interest in Periodontics. Dr. Fertik went on to general practice residency for one year at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital/Rutgers Medical Center in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He then proceeded to postdoctoral training at Boston University School of Dental Medicine finishing periodontics in 1989.
Following his education, Dr. Fertik moved to Rhode Island and joined the oldest periodontal practice in the state (circa 1964). He is an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology and is also a member of the Pierre Fauchard Academy (an International Dental Honor Society), the Providence District Dental Society, and the Rhode Island Dental Association. These memberships, along with a strong commitment to continuing education, allow him to remain current with the latest technological, scientific and clinical advancements in periodontology. He has volunteered for the Mission of Mercy, a local organization to help those in need, to receive proper dental care.
Dr. Fertik spends much of his spare time participating in family and community activities. He has been married to his wife, Lisa for 30 years, and their son, Maxwell is currently attending graduate school at RISD. Dr. Fertik has numerous outside interests such as, skiing, tennis, swimming, hiking, practicing yoga, theater, travel, and live music.
