We have two locations in Rhode Island. Both offices provide ample parking and are close to major highways.
Our Philosophy
At Periodontics Incorporated, the oldest periodontal practice in the state (circa 1962). Our doctors strive to provide excellence in dental implant and periodontal care in a caring and comfortable environment. We take pride in our ability to educate every patient and address their questions while ensuring their comfort throughout treatment. We also strive to enable our patients to make educated decisions, achieve their goals, and reach excellent results and healing.
Meet Our Doctors

Dr. Scott Fertik
Dr. Fertik grew up in Ithaca, NY. He has made Rhode Island his home for over 24 years after attending Hamilton College, graduating Cum Laude in 1982. He attended dental school at the University of Buffalo, where he developed his interest in Periodontics. Dr. Fertik went on to general practice residency for one year at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital/Rutgers Medical Center in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He then proceeded to postdoctoral training at Boston University School of Dental Medicine, where he finished periodontics in 1989.
Following his education, Dr. Fertik moved to Rhode Island and joined the oldest periodontal practice in the state (circa 1964). He is an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology and is also a member of the Pierre Fauchard Academy (an International Dental Honor Society), the Providence District Dental Society, and the Rhode Island Dental Association. These memberships, along with a strong commitment to continuing education, allow him to remain current with the latest technological, scientific, and clinical advancements in periodontology. He has volunteered for the Mission of Mercy, a local organization that helps those in need receive proper dental care.
Dr. Fertik spends much of his spare time participating in family and community activities. He has been married to Lisa for 30 years, and their son, Maxwell, is currently attending graduate school at RISD. Dr. Fertik has numerous outside interests, such as skiing, tennis, swimming, hiking, practicing yoga, theater, travel, and live music.
Dr. John Broderick
Dr. Broderick grew up in central Massachusetts. He has made Northern Rhode Island his home for the past 14 years after attending the University of Lowell, graduating in 1991 with his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Science. He attended dental school at the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, receiving his general dentistry degree in 1996. He then continued his periodontic residency in 1999.
He is an active member of the American Board of Periodontology, the American Academy of Periodontology, the American Dental Association, the Rhode Island Dental Association, and the Greater Woonsocket Dental Association. He is board-certified by the American Board of Periodontology.
Dr. Broderick spends his spare time reading and participating in physical fitness activities, including hiking and walking his Maltese puppy, Luna. He is the proud father of a little boy, Jace, born in March 2015. He been a volunteer for the Mission of Mercy, a local organization that helps those in need receive proper dental care, since its inception. He has been married to his wife, Kim, since 2007.
He joined the practice of Periodontics, Incorporated in 1999, and works with Dr. Fertik in both offices to provide excellence in dental implant and periodontal care for every patient in a caring and gentle manner.


Dr. Klara S. Rasla
Education
Dr. Klara S. Rasla received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree with high honors from Boston University, Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine in 2021. She continued her education by completing advanced specialty training in Periodontology, along with a master’s degree in dental science in periodontology, at Boston University, Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine.
Experience
Dr. Rasla currently serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the predoctoral periodontology program at Boston University, Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine. She has been recognized for her academic excellence and leadership, receiving several honors, including the prestigious Morris P. Ruben Award and Scholarship, which is given to a periodontology resident with outstanding academic and clinical performance. Dr. Rasla is also involved in research and was selected to present her work at the International Association for Dental Research (IADR) 2021 meeting.
Continuing Education
Committed to staying at the forefront of her field, Dr. Rasla is an active member of The American Association of Periodontology (AAP) and The Academy of Osseointegration (AO) to keep current with the latest techniques and advancements in periodontology to provide her patients with the highest standard of care in a relaxed, stress-free atmosphere that focuses on comfort and long-term results.
In her spare time, Dr. Rasla enjoys Biking, cooking, and traveling with her husband, Andrew, and their daughter, Ayla.
